Now is a pretty good time for people who haven’t come to terms with Rick Santorum’s overtly racist and neoliberal mania to really do so.  Let’s put it this way: we all like to imagine this archetypal conservative wackjob when we’re building our arguments. It’s always some broad-shouldered, clean-shaven, middle-aged white dude with more Jesus on his conscience than actual conscience. We all default to thinking that it’s a just caricature of a broader movement, and that no single man can come to embody all of the bullshit we’ve grown to hate, but it’s not: It’s literally this guy.
